Overview
The Computational Engineering programme at the University of Central Oklahoma offers a unique interdisciplinary approach that combines advanced technical training with essential business management skills. This Professional Science Master’s is specifically designed to transform raw data into actionable insights within diverse engineering environments.
Students engage in transformative, hands-on learning methods that go beyond conventional engineering education by infusing operational analytics and project management into the curriculum. This approach ensures that graduates are prepared to tackle real-world business challenges while applying computational thinking to complex systems.
Why Computational Engineering at University of Central Oklahoma?
The University of Central Oklahoma developed this curriculum in direct collaboration with industry leaders to address the specific needs of the advanced STEM workforce. By integrating courses from the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme, the institution provides a robust management foundation alongside technical studies.
The programme is part of the Center for Research and Education in Interdisciplinary Computation (CREIC), ensuring students have access to high-level expertise and resources. Most in-person classes are conveniently held at the university's downtown location, catering to the schedules of busy professionals in the metropolitan area.
A distinctive feature of this degree is the absence of a traditional research thesis, replaced instead by an experiential capstone project. This allows students to apply their knowledge to current issues within their own place of employment or local industry, fostering immediate professional impact and practical problem-solving skills.
