Overview

The Applied Accounting program at the Australian National University is designed for graduates with prior studies in business or economics disciplines and provides them with a strong knowledge base in the core accounting areas and a choice of capstone courses. Students with prior accounting studies can also choose to study advanced accounting courses, including specialist elective courses in public sector accounting, tax and auditing.

Learning Outcomes

Demonstrate an understanding of essential accounting, accountability and governance knowledge in a organisational context.
Critically apply essential knowledge in the discipline to accounting and business decision making.
Analyse and evaluate contemporary accounting, accountability and governance issues informed by accounting-related research, industry practices and professional guidance.
Integrate advanced accounting knowledge and analytical skills in undertaking applied research in the discipline.
