Overview
Students take required courses in human resources, organizational behavior and labor economics. They then choose three electives from a long list of courses including compensation management, labor-management relations, supervision skills and negotiations.
All Price College students have the unique opportunity to participate in the Integrated Business Core, which introduces students to business problem solving in a real-world setting. Students split into teams to form their own companies - actual businesses that the students fund through pitching to a local bank for a loan. Students who have participated in IBC have labeled it as one of the most important courses they took at OU. BizEd magazine has featured OU's IBC program saying that IBC students "are likely to be better prepared to take on the larger obstacles that will threaten their companies."
Human Resource Studies students of University of Oklahoma typically have interests in business, management, helping people and communication. High school preparation should include study in calculus, business and psychology. Prospective students should consider joining a business club at their local high school in order to better prepare them for college.
