Overview

The Operations Leadership in Food Manufacturing programme offered at Conestoga College programme offers a suite of courses designed to develop skills and knowledge with direct applicability in the food manufacturing environment. You will integrate leadership concepts in communication, problem-solving and decision-making.

You will integrate leadership concepts in communication, problem-solving and decision-making. Course materials will be applied in a food manufacturing pilot plant environment and students will be exposed to operations in local industries. You will use continuous improvement including lean six sigma, project management, equipment maintenance, food safety and quality assurance to design systems that lead to excellence in manufacturing.

Careers

Graduates of this programme will be prepared for employment at the middle management level (e.g. Operations Supervisor, Quality Supervisor, Continuous Improvement Leader, Logistics Coordinator) in small-, medium- or large-sized food manufacturing and logistics operations.

General requirements

An Ontario College Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Degree or equivalent in a related field (e.g., food science, food engineering, food technology, biotechnology, general science, environmental science, earth sciences, chemistry, microbiology, biology, mechanical/electrical/industrial/agricultural engineering)
A 2-year diploma credential obtained outside of Ontario currently does not meet the minimum ranking requirement for entrance into this program.

Applicants will be ranked based on an assessment of their academic background, including:

length of program and type of credential;
area of study and its affinity with the Operations Leadership in Food Manufacturing program;
overall academic performance.
Applicants with documents from an educational institution from a country other than Canada must have their documents evaluated for equivalency at an approved provider of credential evaluation services. Applicants require Comprehensive/Course-by-Course Report.
