Overview
The MS in Applied Mathematics program from University of Colorado Denver offers a general degree in applied mathematics along with specialization opportunities in many areas including:

Students in all areas are exposed to a variety of coursework and have the opportunity to participate in real-world research and consulting through our innovative Math Clinic and Statistical Consulting. Whatever specialization students choose, graduates with an applied mathematics degree will be prepared for a multitude of careers.
Program Requirements
- A student may devote from up to 6 hours (of (of the 30 required hours) to the writing of a thesis. Following completion of course work, all candidates must make a one-hour oral presentation of a project or a thesis before a committee consisting of three graduate faculty members.
- Students must complete a minimum of 30 MATH credit hours.
- Students must complete a minimum of 27 graduate (5000-level or higher) credit hours.
- Students must earn a minimum grade of B- (2.7) in all other courses taken at CU Denver and must achieve a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. All graded attempts in required and elective courses are calculated in the program GPA. Students cannot complete program or ancillary course requirements as pass/fail.
- Students must complete all coursework with CU Denver faculty.

General requirements
- International students must provide financial documentation and certified English translations of all records and references not in English.
- Submit scores from the Test of English as a foreign language (TOEFL, iBT) or from the International English Language Testing System (IELTS). The minimum acceptable scores can be found under English Proficiency Testing.
- Complete a baccalaureate or graduate-level degree at an accredited college or university where the language of instruction and the national language is English.
- Complete at least 2 semesters (minimum of 30 credits) at an accredited college or university in the United States as a full-time student with a "B" average (3.0 GPA) or higher.
