The education specialisation is for students who want to work as a first-grade teacher Biology at secondary education or for those who want to specialize in education in general. After completion of this programme you also have the possibility to continue in the field of Biomedical Research.
The Biomedical Sciences Education MSc programme at Leiden University enables you to make a relevant impact on society by educating today’s secondary school pupils for tomorrow’s challenges in the field of biology. General requirements
- A bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Sciences [bachelor Biomedische Wetenschappen], or a NVAO accredited Biomedical Sciences programme, at the level of a Dutch or Flemish University;
- An equivalent bachelor’s degree (for example Bio-Pharmaceutical Sciences or Biology, Life Science). Applicants should possess in depth knowledge, understanding and skills (demonstrated by grades and/or ECTS) in Immunology (6 ECTS), Pathology (6 ECTS), Bio-Statistics (6 ECTS), Neuroscience (6 ECTS) and Molecular Biology (9 ECTS) at the start of the master’s programme.
