About

The interdisciplinary Digital Manufacturing program at EIT Digital Master School is designed to give you a general overview of the role that digital manufacturing plays in securing Europe’s global competitiveness.

Overview

Digitalisation is critical for innovation, competitiveness, and growth. However, when it comes to digitalisation, European manufacturers are at a big disadvantage. In fact, only 66% of manufacturing firms in the EU (compared to 78% in the US) have adopted at least one digital technology.

So, what’s the problem?

Many European companies simply lack the digital skills needed to operate state-of-the-art manufacturing technologies. That means those who invest in developing or updating their digital skills will be well-positioned to compete for these often high-paying jobs. With our Digital Manufacturing programme, you’ll have the skills – and confidence – to drive the digital transformation.

What you will gain

The Digital Manufacturing program at EIT Digital Master School equips you with practical skills in Big Data, computer science, artificial intelligence, and telecommunications.

We use a combination of face-to-face workshops, group activities, and hands-on exercises to cover everything from the basics of digitalisation to the job-specific skills demanded by such roles as:

  • Industrial Internet of Things expert
  • Application engineer
  • Digital manufacturing application designer
  • Edge computing for industrial Internet of Things
  • Artificial intelligence with industrial applications
  • Advanced robotics applications for industry
  • Product manager
  • Consultant

To enhance your learning, the programme includes an opportunity to get real-world experience by working in a leading multinational company. This is a one-of-a-kind chance to apply your new skills and knowledge towards solving actual challenges. You will also receive tailored training and personal mentoring from some of Europe’s leading minds in digitalisation.

Unlock new career opportunities

Careers in digital manufacturing are simply exploding. You will leave this programme with the training and skills needed to unlock a range of career opportunities. Our Digital Manufacturing graduates can be found performing both business and technical roles in innovative manufacturing settings and leading technology companies. Thanks to the specialised training in entrepreneurship this programme provides, some have even gone on to launch their own successful innovative start-ups and consultancies.
