Overview
Upon completing the Environmental Hazards and Risks Management MSc at Université Côte d’Azur, students gain a comprehensive understanding of key risk‑management components, including planning, mitigation, monitoring, scenario modelling, and warning systems.
The Nice Côte d’Azur region offers an exceptional natural laboratory, with diverse field sites ideal for studying monitoring and mitigation strategies applicable worldwide. Students also benefit from extensive digital datasets, including high‑resolution aerial and satellite imagery, Digital Elevation Models, and GIS databases describing land cover, buildings, vegetation, and hydrological networks. This environment is particularly well‑suited for spatial and temporal hazard and risk modelling using GIS and remote sensing.
Throughout the programme, you will:
Learn from leading academics and industry professionals who bring real‑world expertise into the classroom.
Build teamwork and collaboration skills through small‑group projects.
Use advanced geospatial tools, including remote sensing, GIS software, and programming languages such as Python and R, to analyse and extract information from geospatial data.
Apply your skills during field trips designed to connect classroom learning with on‑the‑ground realities.
