Our curriculum in higher education theory and social justice principles addresses the professional standards, skills and personal development necessary to work and lead in higher education.The degree prepares students to engage and direct student learning through professional positions in student life, academic affairs, athletics and a multitude of administrative positions across the campus in a variety of higher education settings.
That includes traditional undergraduate and graduate colleges and universities, community colleges, for-profit institutions, online higher educational institutions and professional undergraduate and graduate settings. General requirements
- Grade point average of 3.0 or better for undergraduate work taken from a regionally accredited institution is recommended or a master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution. Any applications that do not meet this recommendation will be reviewed individually by the admission committee.
- A personal statement (500-words) on the student’s career aspirations
- Provide email addresses in the online form for two references. Recommendations should be from an individual who has supervised the applicant in some capacity attesting to the applicant’s potential as a graduate student (not personal recommendation), such as current/past employers, or former professors.
