Overview

Our students in the MS program in Mathematics from New York University have the freedom to pursue varied and exciting careers. Today, mathematicians find employment in a wide range of companies, including investment banks and government organizations, such as the National Security Agency.

You must have a bachelor’s degrees in mathematics for admission to this program. Students with degrees in other fields may be admitted; those with undergraduate deficiencies may be admitted at the discretion of departmental advisers. Before beginning graduate studies, you are expected to have completed a 1-year course in advanced calculus. Outstanding students are advised to apply for research fellowships, teaching fellowships, or partial tuition remission.
