The program Master of Sacred Music prepares students for pastoral liturgical music ministry. 

Overview

This program focuses on Roman Catholic traditions, but also incorporates traditions of other denominations.

The programme

“Graduates of the MSM program can become music directors, assistant music directors, cantors or organists in various churches,” Dr. Glenn Garrido, chair of the music department, said.

According to Garrido, this program is designed to benefit the community.

“By offering a program to better prepare directors and leaders of churches, we in turn benefit the city and the community.”

  • Admission decisions are based on a combination of your undergraduate GPA, work history, audition, and test scores (if necessary).  
  • Students without a Bachelor’s Degree in music must supply a letter from a priest or music director verifying music experience.
