Overview

In your prospective role as manager, consultant, project manager or other roles it will enable you to understand and deal with a wide variety of issues faced by contemporary organizations and to help companies and governments respond adequately. The  Organization and Management Studies program offered at  Tilburg University  builds on an interdisciplinary social science perspective by drawing on insights from organization science, strategic management, and organizational behavior.

Program and courses

The combination of insights from organization science, strategic management, and organizational behavior makes this program unique in the Netherlands and within Europe. In the Organization and Management Studies track, you learn how to develop and change organizations with evidence-based interventions. You learn to diagnose organizational problems, formulate research-informed solutions, and how to communicate these effectively to the relevant stakeholders in their respective organizations, while managing the implementation process. In this Master's program, you will find answers to questions such as how can you facilitate collaboration within an organization as well as with external partners to the benefit of both? And how can you design successful organizational interventions while keeping in mind factors such as customer preferences and new regulations?

• Receive small-scale, interactive education from leading scientists in the field. You will learn through practical teamwork with frequent group assignments and serious gaming.
• Follow the Extended Master's Program and add a one-year internship to the regular program. You will have a wide range of companies to choose from. During the first semester, you will follow the same courses as the regular Master's program.
• You have also the opportunity to take part in the Global Sustainability Management program: a two-semester international experience at two ENGAGE EU partner universities. This program combines sustainability research with immersive learning, workshops, and hands-on projects.

• The Organizing for Global Social Challenges track focuses on the role of organizations in addressing global social challenges. Research challenges such as climate change and migration from an organization and management perspective.
• The Organizing and Managing Digital Transformation track focuses on the role of organizations in (navigating) digital transformation. Research how digital technologies impact organizational processes.

This Master's program equips you to become an organizational analyst, capable of understanding organizational challenges and helping businesses and governments navigate rapidly changing environments. As a graduate, you understand how organizations are structured and developed, and you are able to analyze and deal with problems in organizations, which is vital in an ever-changing society. 

You are prepared for management, consultancy, and project management positions in the public and private sectors, as well as for a career in research. Recent graduates have found work in project management, consulting, research, and analysis.
