The Athletic Training program of the Moravian College is a full-time, two-year, entry-level, professional practice program. After two years of classroom and clinical education, graduates will be eligible to sit for the Board of Certification to become a certified athletic trainer.


The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, which houses the Athletic Training Program, focuses on inter-professional education and preparing students to become health care practitioners in a multi-disciplinary health care environment.

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Moravian College Master of Science in Athletic Training Program is to provide rigorous didactic and clinical education in order to prepare students to be autonomous, evidence-based clinician-scholars across the full spectrum of athletic training practice in a dynamic healthcare environment.  The program provides innovative, inter-professional didactic and immersive clinical education emphasizing critical-thinking, best practice and patient-centered care to produce clinicians who are leaders, lifelong learners and advocates for the athletic training profession.

General requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited four-year institution
  • Official Transcripts from all institutions listed in the Educational History section of the application
  • Preference is given to students with an overall GPA of 3.00 or higher
  • Official Graduate Record Examination (GRE) Scores (only required if cumulative GPA is below 3.0)
  • Documentation of clinical observation under the supervision of a certified / licensed athletic trainer
  • For cohorts beginning in May and beyond: Anatomy & Physiology (two semester sequence), Statistics, General Biology, Chemistry  , Physics, General Psychology
  • Students who do not consider English to be their primary language are required to submit official scores of a recent IELTS (International English Language Testing System) or TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) examination.
