The curriculum emphasis is on interdisciplinary collaboration and strategies for meeting patients' primary care needs through a family-centered approach to health promotion and illness intervention.

Two certification options exist for graduates of the Family-Individual Across the Lifespan (FIAL) Nurse Practitioner Program.

  • Nursing (Family-Individual Across the Lifespan Nurse Practitioner) Program graduates at Thomas Jefferson University meet the academic eligibility requirements to take the Family Nurse Practitioner Certification Examination offered by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). 
  • Candidates who meet all eligibility requirements established by the ANCC and successfully pass the examination are awarded the credential: Family Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified (FNP-BC).

  • Letters of Recommendation: Submit two letters of reference. 
  • Résumé: A current professional résumé is required.
  • Professional License/Certification: Upload your current and active nursing (RN) license, with the expiration date if applicable, in MyJefferson.
