As a research-based academic programme, the Economics - Development Economics programme of the University of Amsterdam emphasises generating and reviewing empirical evidence on policy effectiveness. While the primary emphasis is on developing countries, we also draw on relevant evidence from developed countries, recognising that many challenges are not unique to one context.
