Overview
The Reading Education program of Texas Woman's University provides the application of theory and research to the processes and practices of literacy instruction so you can feel confident as a literacy leader.
Texas Woman’s offers two master degree options in reading education: Master of Arts (MA) and Master of Education (M.Ed.). Both are available in a blended format with classes online and on TWU’s Denton campus.
Key Facts
We offer two cohort-based graduate degree options to give you the flexibility to tailor your advanced degree to match your career goals.
The blended delivery of our MA and MEd programs in Reading provide the best of both worlds: an opportunity to build community and support as a cohort of learners while meeting on campus a few times each semester and the convenience of working online 60 percent of the time during each semester.
Our graduates are taught a variety of instructional approaches and assessments — including the use of technology — to create an environment that supports literacy learning. Graduates are lifelong learners who become literacy leaders in schools, communities and across the nation.
Our university serves as one of only 18 Reading Recovery Training Centers in the country.
All of our degree and certification programs are fully accredited by the Texas Education Agency/State Board for Educator Certification.
