Overview
Gain in-depth knowledge of the Spanish-speaking world's language and culture while learning the latest methodologies for teaching Spanish in secondary schools. Designed specifically for teachers, the Master of Arts in Foreign Language: Spanish Teaching Emphasis program can be completed over three summers at UNC’s main campus in Greeley, Colorado.
Your training will include intensive language-immersion workshops, often with the expertise of nationally known guest lecturers in addition to our award-winning faculty to guide you. You’ll learn from native speakers, working in small classes that offer rewarding levels of interaction and mentorship, with many opportunities to apply your learning in the field, through classroom research, writing for the Confluencia journal and the option to take part in a summer study abroad experience in Salamanca, Spain.
In addition to earning your Master of Arts in Foreign Language - Spanish Teaching from University of Northern Colorado, you can also gain a Bilingual Bicultural Education Endorsement.

- Applicants must apply to the Graduate School at the University of Northern Colorado before the program area reviews the applicant's request for admission.
- Possess a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college or university or a comparable degree from a foreign institution.
- Domestic Students: $50 non-refundable application fee
- International Students: $60 non-refundable application fee
- Request one official transcript from any accredited college or university where a bachelor’s degree or higher was earned or is in progress (if you have earned multiple degrees, bachelor’s level or higher, an official transcript is required from each college or university where a degree was conferred).
