Overview
The Master in Accessories Design from Accademia Costume & Moda provides students with the conceptual knowledge needed to understand the new contemporary narratives and able to analyse the current socio-economic developments within the Fashion system, positioning them correctly within the leather goods, footwear and accessories market sector.
The objectives allow students to gain direct experience by developing research projects on specific topics, collaborating with the most prestigious brands and manufacturing companies in order to acquire all the industrial and artisanal processes related to the product.
The Accessories Design course, aimed at acquiring technical as well as cultural, research methodology and design skills, delivered through a series of ongoing workshops where personal creative identity is expressed in balance with the production and entrepreneurial realities.
Upon completion of the Academic Master in Accessories Design students will be able to pursue a career as Designers inside the Creative Studios, Product Studios or Design Studios and to cover the various professional roles in Fashion such as Research and Development of Materials to Product Managers, up to the creation of their own business.

Programme Structure
Structure:
- The course consists of various elements: from research through cultural and economic subjects, to the acquisition of skills related to materials and technical aspects belonging to different types of products. Illustration, technical drawings and digital graphic tools, footwear prototypes, small leather goods and bags complete the study path and prepare to the realization of innovative and personal design projects addressed to a specific market.
- Students work on Industry Projects carried out in partnership with companies within the supply chain, suppliers of raw materials – an important point of reference for luxury fashion houses – as well as the internationally renowned brands with which to discuss and develop ideas for the individual needs of the industry.

General requirements
- Students who have successfully completed an Undergraduate Degree in a design discipline or a subject area linked to the Master Course
- Humanistic and Liberal Arts Degree students who have successfully completed an Undergraduate course not linked to the specialized area of the Master can access the course but the Course Council will evaluate the single application to understand the suitability and level of preparation of the candidate
- Industry professionals of the sector and students who have not completed a recognized Undergraduate Degree, but have completed private courses within the subject area of the Master course can access the course but will receive a certificate of attendance instead of a Master Diploma
- In order to maintain the high quality of the study experience, the Master’s observe a limited-enrolment policy.
