Overview
In the thesis option of the Physics degree from the Catholic University of America, at least eighteen semester hours must be in physics, six of which may be in research guidance and not more than nine in courses numbered below 600. In addition the student must satisfactorily pass a comprehensive examination.

Catholic University’s campus is about 3 miles from the U.S. Capitol. Students have access to the Library of Congress, and the libraries of many other research centers such as those of the National Institute of Standards and Technology, NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, and the National Institutes of Health. Our students have the opportunity to complete internships and research at these same institutions as well as many others.
