About

As our society becomes more sophisticated, so must our attention to education and learning. Graduates of the master of arts (MA) program in educational psychology will be in demand to explain the needs of learners and teachers in all areas and to implement the most relevant and useful forms of testing and evaluation. The potential for growth within this field is considerable.

Our graduates go on to work in a wide variety of settings and have used their degrees to move into more advanced positions within their current professions.

English Language Requirements

    PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English Academic) is a language test that enables students to demonstrate their writing, listening, speaking, and reading skills when applying to study in English. Delivered and marked by computer, it reports on a scale between 10 and 90.

Academic Requirements

You need the following GPA score:

Required score: 2.75

Applicants for graduate programs must have the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree with a minimum GPA equivalent to 2.75 on a US 4.0 grading scale. Admitted applicants typically have an undergraduate GPA of or better on a 4.0 scale. No exam grade should be lower than 4.5 (European grade scale) or D (American grade scale).

Your GPA (Grade Point Average) is calculated using the grades that you received in each course, and is determined by the points assigned to each grade (e.g. for the US grading scale from A-F).

General Requirements

  • You must have a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 on a U.S. 4.0 scale (some programs require higher GPAs)
  • You must pay a nonrefundable application fee of $60
  • You must submit documentation regarding all prior academic history of higher education
  • Ball State University requires all international graduate applicants to demonstrate English proficiency by submitting a TOEFL, Pearson's PTE, or IELTS score unless eligible for a waiver. A scanned copy of the score report can be emailed to INTADMIT@bsu.edu
