Basic Degree Information/Description

The mission of the Public Administration program of The University of Texas at San Antonio is to educate responsible leaders and ethical public servants through a curriculum that incorporates research and practice.

Why pursue an M.P.A.?

The program earned reaccreditation through the 2019-2020 academic year by the Network of Schools of Public Policy, Affairs and Administration (NASPAA).

UTSA's program is one of only 10 NASPAA-accredited master's programs in public administration, affairs, and policy in Texas.

Easy Accessibility:

Twelve or more courses offered in the fall and spring semesters

3-6 courses offered in the summer semesters

3-7 courses offered in the evening at the Downtown campus

Rising public and non-profit demand for the MPA degree.

The program's graduates represent a wide range of professional and community backgrounds; many serve the public as leaders at the local, regional, national, and international levels.

Career Options Available for an M.P.A. Graduate

Students find positions as managers, analysts, supervisors, and specialists in the public sector, especially in local city, county and state agencies. Many of our students also find positions in the non-profit sector, as well as with private firms that require contact with public agencies.

A completed a Graduate School application
