Overview
The Master in Business at Nord University develops skilled change agents with analytical skills and reflective critical thinking, which can use scientific and digital tools in practical problem solving.
The program facilitates the students to design their own study program. With four majors and more electives, and the ability to choose subjects on the crossing of main profiles, students can design the course of study from their own areas of interest. The program also facilitates exchange stays at international universities.
We offer specialization within four majors:
- Management Control
- Innovation and entrepreneurship
- Financing and investment
- International business and marketing
In the first semester of the study program, compulsory subjects will be completed, which will provide students with broad knowledge within economics, with advanced knowledge of theoretical perspectives and models within the fields of change management, strategic analysis, valuation and profitability analysis, and research methodology. The subjects develop skills to critically evaluate established theories, models, information and its sources, and the ability to illuminate business-economic business situations and issues with ethical principles.
Knowledge and skills acquired in the first semester are continued and further developed in other semester through a self-chosen major. The major provides both broad and deep knowledge within the self-chosen limited profile area. Students will also choose one subject from one of the other majors to acquire advanced insights into theories and models from another subject area and to be able to understand interdisciplinary issues.
In the third semester, students go deeper into the major area, and will be prepared to apply research literature and methodology for independent research work. This semester also offers a number of electives that provide advanced insights into various phage maths. Third semester also facilitates exchange for one of our many cooperative universities in the world.
In the last semester of the study program, the student is working on an independent research work within the chosen major. The Master's thesis is a scientific work that will illuminate a business economics issue through investigation and contributions to relevant research literature. By using appropriate research methodology for collecting and analyzing empirical data, students will contribute implications to evaluation, innovation and innovations in business economic business cases.
The study model has a comprehensive connection between the program's compulsory subjects, majors and research methodology, which provides gradual progression on academic knowledge, skills and general competence.
