Description

The School of Biological Sciences will offer scholarships for academically-excellent applicants of postgraduate taught MSc programmes from South Asia and South-East Asia for the 2026-2027 academic session.

Benefits

They are offering a limited number of scholarships, for the sum of £10,000 each to eligible applicants. These awards will be tenable for one academic year and will be:

Automatically deducted from your tuition fee with any remaining funds being awarded towards living costs.

All scholarship award holders are expected to be energetic members of our postgraduate community, and will engage with opportunities to present their work to the wider student and staff body during the period covered by their award. We offer our postgraduates a range of training and development opportunities appropriate to their programme of study.

Eligibility

The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of academic merit to applicants who have received an offer to a postgraduate taught master’s degree programme offered by the School of Biological Sciences commencing in September. 

Eligible programmes are:

  • Animal Breeding and Genetics
  • Biochemistry
  • Bioinformatics
  • Biotechnology
  • Data Science for Biology
  • Drug Discovery and Translational Biology
  • Ecology, Evolution and Biodiversity
  • Evolutionary Genetics
  • Human Complex Trait Genetics
  • Quantitative Genetics and Genome Analysis
  • Synthetic Biology and Biotechnology

Applicants must have, or expect to obtain, the equivalent of a UK first class honours degree at undergraduate level and be domiciled in and a national of South Asia or South-East Asia. 

The scholarship will be awarded broadly on the basis of academic merit.
