Created in 1957 by philosopher Gaston Berger and Rector Jean Capelle, INSA Lyon is the oldest and largest of the 7 schools making up the INSA Group.
The humanist commitment of INSA schools and their openness to different origins, cultures and social background are the hallmark of the two founders.
While teaching sciences obviously constitutes the core of the five-year engineering programmes, the 'Humanities' have also played a central role since the creation of INSA Lyon in training engineers who are open to the world engineers. In addition to the languages, philosophy and culture, their engineering students benefit from specific training in management and issues inherent to the corporate world.
These teachings include foundations of ethical reflection, implementing innovative and active pedagogies that aim to provide the students with opportunities to learn about citizenship, gain autonomy, and develop a sense of responsibility, while encouraging creativity and innovation.
INSA Lyon boasts 22 research laboratories, more than 700 researchers and teacher-researchers, about 600 PhD students, and over 1,000 industrial contracts with the socio-economic world.
This represents a scientific and technological capital that accounts for much of the international prestige of the school.

I have tried twice to enter in this university free my preparatory class and I am not regretting my choice. The diversity in the university is a real bonus.
The best IT school in Morocco, very qualified teachers, brilliant students and very good IT environment.
This degree offers the opportunity to discover a wide range of aspects that are crucial to engineering. Each part; material, mechanical, and aerospace, is looked at in depth as well as how it connect with the other aspects of engineering. The professors are knowledgable and supportive. Whilst some classes are more challenging than others, this course required very intelligent and dedicated students. I have seen many who were only vaguely interested in engineering, or those who could not be bothered to put in the required effort, start failing their classes, repeat semesters or drop out of the course. Overall, it is a great course that gives the basis for a great engineering career.
