Overview

The Artificial Intelligence and Engineering Systems program offered by INSA Lyon is a two-year international master's program spans four countries: France, Germany, Italy and Spain, offering a unique blend of expertise in artificial intelligence. One of the special features of this program is its mobility requirement, with students required to study in two different countries (during the second and third semesters), enabling them to increase their international exposure and intercultural skills.

The curriculum is designed to immerse students in four key AI themes: computer vision, distributed systems, cybersecurity and intelligent systems.

The first semester enables students to familiarize themselves with all the specialties, then focus on two specialties in the second semester. In the second year, students specialize in one major area while pursuing a secondary specialization. This structured approach guarantees a comprehensive and in-depth understanding of the various aspects of AI.

This master's program is distinguished by its interactive, hands-on learning experiences. At the end of the first semester, students engage in group challenges, fostering teamwork and practical application of their learning. The second semester concludes with a summer school, offering an immersive educational experience. In addition, a major project during the second semester addresses broader societal issues related to digital society and sustainable development, going beyond the mere technical aspects of AI innovation.

Bachelor of Science, preferably in Computer Science
A strong background in Computer Science reflected, for example, in solid programming and software development skills, but also in data sciences, and mathematics.
A certified B2 level in English. No minimum level of French, German, Italian or Spanish is required.
A completed application form.
Curriculum Vitae (preferred format: Europass)
A cover letter (max. 1000 words) demonstrating the consistency between the Programme’s objectives and the applicant’s motivation, academic/professional background and professional project.
A scan of passport (a scan of the national ID will be accepted conditionally if the applicant does not have a passport at the time of application)
A proof of residence (residence certificate or a certificate from the applicant’s workplace, study institution or training institution; certified translation to English)
