About

History

The community of Trieste’s wish to establish a University is first documented in the 1800s when the city’s port was built.

At that time, local leaders asked the Imperial House of Austria to endow the city with a University to support its flourishing trade and establish a suitable institution to provide citizens with an education and training in legal and economic studies.

Education

Our academic activity must be oriented to transfer a large contribution of knowledge endowments, as to provide young generations with the appropriate skills for wide overviews and real innovation through a cultural process of knowledge integration.

Research

The University of Trieste is widely recognized and highly ranked both nationally and internationally. It looks to strengthen its role as a top Research University, with the aim to increase the PhD Programmes and its collaboration with national and international research facilities while working to recruit top level scientists and researchers.

Career

The Careers Service is responsible for placement and careers advice for future graduates, graduates and research students at the University of Trieste. The aim of these two actions is to reduce to a minimum the time needed for young people to enter the labour market. Everyday, staff provide information on employment opportunities, professional openings offered by courses of study, continuing education initiatives, and the strengthening of active means of finding a job.

Student Reviews

Not the best, but you can make the best out of it.

University of Trieste's approach is still a bit old school. With my course this slightly changes: classes are smaller and more interactive, and the program opens your view to the world outside Italy. While I am still very interested in what I am studying, it probably won't be what I'll do in my future job; I have changed my mind, and that's completely fine. What my...

That is why for my Master's degree I slightly changed my field of studies and focused more on literature and humanities. I am happy with the results I got during these years and my aim is to...
