Overview

The Master's Degree Course in Geophysics and Geodata from University of Trieste is organized with the aim of providing the student with a broad and solid cultural and methodological preparation on the central topics for the geophysical, geological and physical disciplines for the study of the Earth system and the processes that involve it, also developing specific skills in the field of data science and scientific computing applied to these topics.

What is Geophysics?

Geophysics is a science that develops methods and technologies for non-invasive investigation of the interior of the Earth and applies them to the study of the surface, the subsoil of the earth, surface and deep fluids, artefacts and structures.

Objectives

The main objective is to provide graduates with the ability to understand the potential and limits of geophysical investigation and diagnosis methodologies and tools, and the ability to use and develop physical, mathematical and calculation tools which, together with the other methodologies of geosciences, physics and engineering, allow the study, exploration and understanding of the Earth and the processes active within it, at various spatial and temporal scales, both for scientific and applicative purposes.
