History
The University of Porto, now its 14 Faculties, was only created in 1911, and then with only two faculties: Science and Medicine. In the case of the Science Faculty is possible to follow an evolution 250 years, beginning with the Class Boating (1762), the Class Sketching and Drawing (1779), the Royal Academy of Maritime and Trade (1803), the Polytechnic Academy ( 1837).

The integration of students of the Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto is a constant concern, so we try to create all conditions for the integration process of our students to be successfully achieved. In this context, the student support office performs duties in three specific areas:
- Information about the courses of FCUP;
- Support for students with special educational needs;
- medical and psychological support.
Library services
The Library of the Faculty of Sciences of University of Porto (FCUP) currently is organized in specialized centers, mainly in the areas of Exact Sciences and Natural Sciences, and the related technologies, with all the cataloged collection.
ICT services
It is the mission of the Informatics Center (IC) provide a robust and secure computing environment that supports academic and administrative activities. It is the responsibility CI administration of this system consists of infrastructure, applications, services and expert support.
