Camberwell College of Arts has an extensive range of professional workshops and facilities, supervised by experienced technicians who are skilled arts practitioners themselves.
Our technical staff encourage students to trust their own creative ideas and help them learn new skills that allow students to produce their best work.
Digital Media
Camberwell's Digital Media Centre includes an open access media suite, featuring a large number of Macs where students can use programmes such as In Design and Final Cut Pro. Video and sound editing, stop frame animation, image manipulation and digital print facilities are also available here.
We offer training in digital media software via both structured workshops and optional one-on-one sessions with our technicians.
Photography
Camberwell's Photography Centre is equipped with:
- Digital Darkroom: used to teach photographic digital workflows, principally with Adobe Lightroom, and is only available to BA Photography students
- Photographic Studio: this studio is for learning photographic studio techniques and the production of work in both stills and video formats, and has flash and constant lighting available
- 35mm Black and White Resin Darkroom: a dedicated 35mm Black and White darkroom, with nine enlargers and an Ilford resin coated paper processor
- Multi Format Fibre Darkroom: this Black and White darkroom is designed for tray processing, with ten enlargers configured for a variety of formats, and is reserved for fibre based printing only
- Specialist Print Darkroom: this area is equipped with horizontal and vertical enlargers, as well as space for toning and alternative processes including cyanotype, salt printing, albumen printing and liquid emulsion
- Black and White Film Processing Room: this space has daylight tanks or trays for large format
- RA4 Colour Print Darkroom: the colour darkroom contains five enlargers and an RA4 processor for colour negative printing
Printmaking
Camberwell's Printmaking Centre is one of the largest in the UK, giving students access to both traditional and digital printmaking facilities including:

- mono printing

- screen printing
3D
Camberwell's 3D Resource Centre has open access wood, metal and plastic workshops and is equipped with.
- Wood tools: ban saws, table saw, panel saw, router, belt sander
- Plastic tools: laser cutter, vacuum former, milling drill, hot wire, 3D printer
- Metal tools: spot welding, MIG welding, TIG welding, metal guillotine, sand blaster, forge, enamelling kiln, grinding, metal saw, plasma cutter
Our Ceramic Workshop consists of a working area, plaster room, glazing laboratory, spray booth and indoor and outdoor kilns. The College also has a foundry for metal casting.

Library
Camberwell College of Arts' library collections reflect the subjects we teach here, specialising in the history and theory of art and design.
Students are also able to use any of the libraries across University of the Arts London's six colleges, with these combined collections covering general interests such as history, psychology, philosophy, cultural studies and contextual studies.
Our e-library can be accessed on and off campus and offers an extensive range of art and design-related electronic resources, including full-text journals, reference sources, indexing services and image databases.
There's also an ongoing programme of exhibitions in the library, featuring work by students and staff as well as items from our collections.
Foundation students have access to a 3D workshop, printmaking workshop and a digital media suite with Macs and PCs.
