Since the reopening of the Viadrina in 1991, the European University has developed into an internationally renowned address on the German-Polish border, with approximately 6,000 students now enrolled.


One may complete about 20 different international double degrees at the Bachelor or Master level at the Viadrina. A good example of this is the Master of European Studies program, designed and maintained by all three Viadrina faculties, which may also be completed with a German-Polish or German-French double degree.


The Career Center at the European University Viadrina helps students to get acquainted with all the requirements for their future professional life.

Student services

The Admissions Office, Matriculation Office and Examination Office together with the Service-Point offer a comprehensive information and support service. Applicants and students contact the Service-Point (by telephone, e-mail or in person) with all their requests and are then forwarded to competent contact persons in the respective areas.

Housing services

Most students live in modern student residences on both sides of the river Oder in Frankfurt and Słubice. As the other buildings the student residences are distributed all over the city. Here some basic Information of the residences.

Library services

The University Library is a general academic library. It caters for researchers, academic staff and students at the university as well as being important for the running of the university. Wherever compatible with these services, it can also be used for other academic work, further education and researching a wide range of subjects. The University Library is open to everyone.

Medical services

To enroll at a German university you need tohave valid health insurance policy complying with the German law. You have to submit the insurance certificate together with the documents for the enrollment (= matriculation) to the university.

Sports facilities

The Universitätssportclub Viadrina e. V. (USC, University Athletic Club) not only offers many types of athletic activities, but it boasts its own athletic center and becoming active in the athletic club is a great way to make new friends.

Fencing, dancig, rowing, badminton, combat sports, ball games and many more!

The Students' Councils represent the student body within the framework of university governance.

Numerous student initiatives enrich life at Viadrina with their plethora of activities and offers.
