History
The Baylor Business School was established in 1923, but our story really begins back in 1919, when President Samuel Palmer Brooks proposed the adoption of a business school. At that time, America was recovering from World War I and enrollment was down.
Education
The Hankamer School of Business believes in transformational, worldwide discovery for students, faculty and staff. Through the McBride Center for International Business, students are encouraged to explore global experiences within their degree program through study abroads, international internships and Business mission abroad programs. Faculty and staff also have the opportunity to engage in global initiatives, pursuing international research possibilities and incorporating discovered concepts into their classrooms.
Research
The purposeful research conducted at the Hankamer School of Business strives to make lasting changes to improve the lives of those in our community, nation and the world at large. Explore the ways Business faculty and students are expanding the scope of research conducted.

The Casey Computer Center was created in 1962 through the generosity of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Casey, who provided the original equipment. Since that time the center has provided excellent service and state-of-the-art equipment for students, faculty and staff in the Hankamer School of Business.

Student clubs
The Hankamer School of Business features 19 professional organizations, six cooperative programs and two honor societies—all providing students an opportunity for personal and professional growth.
Accreditation
Dr. Lang began working toward meeting the standards required for membership in the American Association of Collegiate Schools of Business. This goal inspired many program and faculty improvements, and in 1950 the business school was admitted with provisional associate membership in the AACSB. As the program continued to strengthen, the business school attained complete associate membership in 1953. Full accreditation was achieved in 1959.
