Kerala University of Health sciences in Kerala
Kerala University of health located in Kerala offers health courses. The university encourages participation in extracurricular activities, organizing various cultural and sports events. University provide good high standards facilities but the policy's of universities towards students is bit strict compared to other universities. My college is Nazareth College of pharmacy which is located in Kerala .As a educational institution college have lots of facilities, classes are presented in projectors, well qualified teaching professionals, but the management which controlling the college is greedy imposing fees on small things. But as a educational institution college is good. At last it is a place which gives me lots of memories, friends, memories.
Average
First, there is the problem of following a definite exam schedule. Preparing for an exam when it has to be postponed just before the examination time is a waste of time. Students are also confused regarding study plans, which creates unnecessary tension. The university website crashes too often during busy periods like registration and exams. It becomes very difficult to find the necessary information in time. Generally, the college has its strengths, but these operation issues are really major issues concerning the student experience. I hope the administration will soon take care of these aspects.
Academics and internship
I am doing my MBBS internship in Jubilee Mission Medical College under KUHS. Basically in my college, there's barely any campus but being situated in the heart of the city, we have a whole city to explore. Since there's barely any campus, we are more focused in academics and in terms of academics , JMMC is one of the top colleges in Kerala and one of the top 10 private institutes in India itself. And KUHS is also one of the top universities academically in India as well. But under KUHS, we do not get much support to get paid the same stipend as the government colleges despite the order from the National Medical Council stating equal pay for all medical colleges under the same University. But such a scene is common across any medical colleges/universities in India. Most hospitals here are unstaffed, underpaid and overworked and the patient load is dumped on the nurses, interns and JRs. So a need for equal pay is essential as we are also taking the 24, 48 or even 72 hour shifts just like the government colleges too. Overall I'd rate my university a 3/5 which is good when comparing the usual 1/5s or 2/5s seen here in India with the best medical universities rated at 4/5.
