After leaving CCI In 1991, Dr. Bergin founded the Assistance Dog Institute, which was formally designated a university in early 2004. Today, Bergin University of Canine Studies is young and growing.
Mission Statement - Our up-to-date, in-depth academic and applied coursework provides students the opportunity to expand their knowledge of the diverse schools of human-canine partnerships for vocational purposes; or through the unique viewpoint provided by dogs as a model of humankind, to enhance knowledge for the students’ own career-oriented specialties.
Our groundbreaking research in teaching dogs to read, early pup training, and High Schooled -Assistance Dogs demonstrates new ways to optimize human’s interactions with dogs. These findings are shared worldwide.
