On a bleak January day in 1890, a caravan of sleighs found their way to the crest of a hill near Lincoln. Hoopes, the locating committee secretary, planted his heel in the snow and exclaimed, “Here is where the southwest corner of the College Building should be.” His prophetic wisdom was fulfilled to the letter.
Union Adventist University is an accredited, comprehensive institution of higher education. Enrolling students from around the world, Union offers bachelor’s degrees in more than 50 majors, a Master of Physician Assistants Studies and an honors program. The college is known for high medical school acceptance rates for pre-med graduates; high passing rates on nursing board exams; a specialized Teaching Learning Center offering support to students with learning differences; and a unique one-room school teaching lab for education majors. Union is also known for its strong student leadership with students planning, implementing and participating in a majority of the spiritual, social and community service programs.
After a decade of planning, seven years of fundraising and eleven months of construction, the Krueger Center opened on March 5th 2014. Nearly 2,600 donors contributed over $14.9 million to create a state-of-the-art facility for science and mathematics at Union College. Fifty-nine percent of Union College students major in fields in or closely related to mathematics and the sciences, and the new 57,000 square foot facility gives those programs room to grow and thrive. Student Life provides a central location for support services to students of Union Adventist University. These services include men's and women's residence halls, student health, athletic activities, student activities and counseling for college students.
Union Adventist University's Ella Johnson Crandall Memorial Library leads the campus in the utilization of information resources and preservation of institutional heritage and serves students, faculty, staff, and community members in their intellectual and spiritual growth. It also houses the university's Student Success Center and The Writing Studio.
Union College operates a private computer system/network with access granted to users for a very specific use. Users are expected to maintain a high level of computer conduct.
Campus health is a non-urgent health clinic on campus committed to providing quality health and well-being care in a compassionate environment for our students. Our purpose is to enhance academic excellence and support student experience by providing high-quality and accessible health and mental health care services to our students.
Both at Union and colleges and universities nationwide, students who live on campus tend to get better grades, feel more connected to campus life, and take fewer years to finish their degree. Because of the connection between residence halls and success in college, Union requires younger students not living with their parents to live on campus.
Located in the capital city of Lincoln, Nebraska, Union’s arboretum campus offers billowing trees in a sprawling park-like setting. Founded in 1891, Union’s 50-acre setting blends the ivy and brick of collegiate tradition with modern facilities.
