Muskingum University’s proud heritage began in 1837, when Ohio was an infant state and covered wagons were bringing adventurous settlers westward over the newly completed National Road through New Concord. The University’s Native American name, sometimes mispronounced and often misspelled, is a source of pride and an enduring link to the history of frontier America “beyond the Alleghenies.”

Mulungushi University - yay or nay
Mulungushi university, located in the peaceful and serene outskirts of kabwe- is a state of the art learning institution that offers a conducive environment for learners to grow academically and sociall. With highly trained lecturers who take a hands on learning approach and interactive lecture sessions, it's the place to be, if you to be if you enjoy a perfect blend of practical and theoretical learning. Campus life is buzz with beautiful sceneries, vibrant student and a few chill spots. Good as it sounds, there are some issues that might be drawbacks to student. For instance, the edurole system constantly crushes and affects stuff like submitting assignments on time, writing online tests and having access to learning material which is bummer. Overall it's a great place to br if you're looking for learning in a place that is peaceful and calm without a lot of modern day distractions and with quality education.

Career Services concentrates on the process each student will need to navigate through in order to prepare for a career or graduate school. Through programs and services, we are dedicated to helping each student build an individual portfolio that best presents him or her to prospective employers and graduate schools.
Housing services
Muskingum is a residential university which requires all undergraduate students to live on campus and maintain a university meal plan for a minimum of 6 semesters (beginning with the class that entered the Fall of 2013). Students who are 25 years of age or older at the time residency begins are not required to live in campus housing. Students 25 years of age or older must request permission to live in campus housing from the Vice President of Student Affairs or his/her designee.
Library services
The Library’s holdings include 209,000 books and more, 310 journal subscriptions, and 14 daily/weekly newspaper subscriptions. In addition, the Library provides access to: 46 million books, millions of electronic articles, 12,000 electronic journals, 140 databases, 25,000 e-books; thousands of images, videos and sounds, 12,000 theses and dissertations from Ohio students and more.
Medical services
The Wellness Center focus is to enhance this educational process by minimizing health-related issues which might disrupt the traditional full-time undergraduate student's academic pursuits.
Campus life
- More than 90 percent of students live on campus or in the village of New Concord.
- Muskingum’s living options range from traditional residence halls, sorority, fraternity and social club houses to Lakeside houses, and townhouses.
- On the East and West campus hills you’ll find housing with newly furnished lounges, computer labs, and laundry facilities. Each of our six traditional residence halls has a personality of its own- with the layouts, furniture, and building style differing from the next. All of our traditional halls are outfitted with Proximity Access Card readers, permitting only the residents assigned to the building to access them with their student ID cards.
Sports facilities
Muskingum currently offers 25 varsity sports, with 20 competing at the NCAA Division III level. Muskingum athletics features various quality athletic venues listed below. Muskingum hosts more than 100 NCAA events a year featuring over 500 student-athletes, which attract thousands of visitors to Muskingum’s campus and athletic facilities.
