Austin College

Austin College, a private national liberal arts college located north of Dallas in Sherman, Texas, has earned a reputation for excellence, recognized by Loren Pope in the book Colleges That Change Lives. Located in historic Sherman, this residential and nationally recognized environmentally green campus is less than 60 minutes north of Dallas-Fort Worth. The Verde Dickey Fitness Pavilion is a state-of-the art cardio and resistance training workout facility open to all students, faculty, and staff, upon registration.

The modern and user-friendly cardio stations include treadmills, recumbent bikes, and elliptical machines with upper body movements. All of the cardio equipment is connected via radio transmitters and headphones to an audio and visual theatre, allowing users cable television options on eight different TV monitors and four choices of radio stations.

• Alpha Phi Omega (APO) is a national service fraternity. The Phi Xi chapter was founded at Austin College in 1970 to help the College through service projects. Its main purpose is to assemble college students in fellowship, develop leadership, promote friendship, and provide service to humanity.
• Habitat for Humanity works to implement the gospel of Jesus Christ at Austin College and elsewhere by working with economically disadvantaged people to help them create a better human habitat in which to live and work.
• Rotaract allows students the opportunity to work independently and with rotary clubs to serve the local and global community while gaining a better understanding of the world which we live in.
