Exchange students must live on campus at Geneseo. Accommodations are arranged by the SUNY Geneseo Study Abroad Office.
Milne Library is named after Dr. William J. Milne, who was the first Principal of the Geneseo Normal School from 1871 to 1889, and his brother, Dr. John M. Milne, who was Principal from 1889 to 1903. Milne Library was completed and occupied in 1966.
SUNY participates in the New York State Health Insurance Program (NYSHIP). This program offers a PPO, known as the Empire Plan, and several different HMOs, varying by geographic region around the State.

The Department of Residence Life at Geneseo has a large, dedicated staff comprising students and full-time university professionals, who work to ensure all students feel safe and supported in their living spaces. The Accounting Society is an organization in Geneseo that provides numerous networking and learning opportunities to our students by sponsoring or hosting specific professional and community events. Our main goal is to promote the professional and personal development of our members.Actuary Club brings students together who are interested in the Actuarial career to learn about the profession, get internships, practice interviewing, write resumes, and network with alums.
NCATE is a coalition of more than thirty-three professional associations and as such is recognized as the professional accrediting body by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and by the United States Department of Education. Its dual mission is accountability and improvement in teacher preparation.
