China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), a joint-venture for management education, was co-founded by the Chinese government and European Union (EU) in 1994, with Shanghai Jiao Tong University and the EFMD serving as its executive partners.
CEIBS offers China’s largest full-time, English-taught MBA programme, the world’s largest EMBA programme, stand-alone Global EMBA, as well as a part-time Finance MBA (FMBA) programme, a range of Executive Education programmes and an intensive Ph.D. programme. Renowned for its academic rigour, CEIBS is the first business school on the Chinese mainland to have been accredited by both EQUIS and AACSB and the only business school in Asia to have simultaneously made it to the Financial Times’ top 30 list of MBA, EMBA and Executive Education programmes.
CDC is dedicated to bridging companies with MBA graduates. We help students identify career interest and develop a career plan. We also facilitate various activities to enhance communication between companies and students. As an advisor to MBA participants, one of CDC’s main responsibilities is to help students find their career instead of landing a job.
Career counselling is offered to students on an individual basis. CDC consultants provide personalised advice and help students identify strengths and weaknesses, develop career strategy and planning, as well as improve job-searching skills such as résumé composition and interview.

Academic guidance at CEIBS is provided by the Academic Council, which is composed of representatives from leading businesses and academic institutions in Europe, China and the United States. This Council guarantees the academic standards of the school by continuous evaluation of its teaching and research programmes and, in particular, by assisting in the recruitment of faculty.
Two 4,700-square-metre student residences have been completed; each has 7 floors. The ground floor of each building has 12 guest rooms, while the 2nd to the 7th floors of each has 16 guest rooms. There are two common areas on each floor for group discussion assignments as well as casual conversations. The layout enhances communication, outside the classroom, between residents of the guest rooms. Fifty percent of the rooms have a stunning view of the glass pyramid.
The CEIBS Library is a small, modern and academic library which provides high-quality collections and services for teaching, research and learning. We have two libraries, one at each campus.
Our libraries contain over 54,000 Chinese and English books, approximately 257 print journals and about 2,100 visual materials.
The school’s world-class facilities are impressive, comfortable, and technologically advanced. Wi-Fi is available in virtually all the rooms from the cafeteria to the 750-seat conference hall, providing students with an easily accessible high-speed connection to the school’s information network and databases.
CEIBS became the first business school in mainland China with its own campus when it established a facility in Shanghai’s Pudong district in 1994. In 2013, the school opened Phase III of this main campus in Shanghai. The expansion doubled the size of the campus to a total floor area of approximately 80,000 square metres.
Designed by world-renowned architects, Pei Cobb Freed and Partners, the school’s architectural style combines Western architecture with the subtlety of Chinese beauty and grace. Phases I and II use Suzhou tiles to band and lattice the school’s windows, creating a unique identity for the 8-hectare site in Pudong.
Completed in Phase II, the gymnasium offers an appealing two-level, air conditioned facility. Offering a broad range of fitness equipment, it accommodates both novice and experienced athletes with treadmills, stationary bicycles, and weight training equipment. Table tennis and basketball courts are also available at the gymnasium.
CEIBS boasts the largest alumni network among business schools in mainland China. At the end of November 2014, the school's Alumni Association represented over 16,000 alumni of CEIBS and its predecessor CEMI, and increases its roster by roughly 1,500 fresh graduates yearly. Alumni form a very strong element of the school community, and play a variety of roles in the development of the school. At the end of November 2014, the Alumni Association had established 60 regional chapters in China and beyond. Meanwhile, there are 60 alumni clubs that cater to alumni's personal interests and career focus.
In December 2008, CEIBS received accreditation from AACSB International (the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business). Founded in 1916, AACSB International is the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools that offer undergraduate, master's, and doctoral degrees in business and accounting.
