Our history in entrepreneurship education began with the vision of our founder, Roger Babson, an accomplished entrepreneur. Below is a timeline that details the milestones that have brought us to where we are today — the leading business school for entrepreneurship education.
1919 Roger Babson, accomplished entrepreneur, founds Babson College.
Today in our collaborative community, students gain the fundamental business skills and liberal arts knowledge necessary to cultivate an entrepreneurial mindset. They then use that mindset to navigate real business situations, putting what they learn into practice and becoming leaders equipped to make a difference on campus and around the world.
Quality teaching, an innovative, integrated curriculum, and faculty research are the cornerstones of Babson’s academic programs and scholarly activities.
Faculty members each develop, in conjunction with their division chairperson, a program of scholarly activity that relates to individual, division, and College needs. Expectations are that faculty members develop a research pipeline, that is, continuous scholarly work with projects in various stages of completion.
Babson graduates are succeeding as entrepreneurial leaders in organizations ranging from Fortune 500 companies to dynamic startups. In 2019, nearly 80% of our full-time MBA students received job offers within three months of graduation.
Babson’s Graduate Center for Career Development (CCD) provides students with advice and resources to recognize and pursue career opportunities across all industries and functions. The Career team uses leading-edge career resources including Handshake, an online system that connects students with jobs and internships, and VMock, an AI-powered resume review tool to help them on the path to pursuing their career goals.
