For more than 80 years, we've been preparing men and women for today's business world. Granting bachelor, masters, PhD and MBA degrees, the College includes the Departments of Economics, Finance & Quantitative Methods, Management, and Marketing & Supply Chain and the Von Allmen School of Accountancy. A member of the AACSB International (The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business), Gatton College is accredited to offer undergraduate and graduate programs in the business disciplines.
With immersive programs and engaging faculty, our students are becoming world-ready. This is evidenced in our unique programs such as our one year accelerated MBA program and our highly selective Global Scholars program.
Our MBA programs are designed to enhance our first-rate teaching with real-world experience.
Gatton's One Year Accelerated MBA option, at 51 course hours, is shorter and more immersive than those found at other colleges and universities. This cutting-edge program takes place over 45 weeks, starting from early-June through late-May and provides students the opportunity to work side-by-side with corporate firms through new product development, supply chain management and mergers and acquisitions.. If you're a working individual seeking to improve your business acumen, Gatton's evening Professional MBA option is designed specifically with you in mind. Through 12 core courses, you will develop into world-ready business leaders through solid classroom instruction in as little as two to three years.
We've also designed a unique Global Scholars undergraduate program aimed at preparing students to become world-ready. Through a highly selective curriculum, our students are ready to compete and collaborate with anyone, anytime and anywhere. They're ready to find the opportunities in changing world markets. And ready to become part of the next generation of global business leaders.
In addition to giving our students a real-world education, our faculty members remain hands-on in their respective fields. From marketing and management to economics and accounting they are providing cutting-edge research in their areas of expertise. In fact, our information systems faculty was ranked among the top 20 in the world for research productivity in a 2005 study published by the Association for Information Systems.
Through our top-notch faculty and stellar degree programs, we have trained nearly 30,000 men and women. Our alumni continue to support us in numerous ways from partnering with us to employing our graduates to even lecturing on campus.
Carol Martin Gatton is one such alumnus. As a graduate of the University of Kentucky with a degree in business administration, Mr. Gatton knew first-hand the value of a UK business education. Coupling his business degree and keen business knowledge, Mr. Gatton saw a successful career in automobile dealerships, banking and real estate. His success has become our success. In 1995 Mr. Gatton invested $14 million into the College enabling us to continue offering a quality educational experience.
His gift to the College of Business and Economics was the largest in the history of the University at that time. Because of this, the Board of Trustees renamed the College in his honor. Today, Mr. Gatton remains highly involved with the College through our Business Partnership Foundation.
