Facing the challenges of a changing world, UniMe is carrying out a coherent strategy to develop international partnerships aimed at fostering research and didactic activities as well as mobility of students, academics and administrative staff. Results achieved pay off such an effort, showing a steady increase in both international mobility activities – especially in the framework of Erasmus Plus – and in European, Mediterranean and international scientific and didactic cooperation.

Student services

"Study in Italy" is a valuable information tool for students wishing to attend higher education (H.Ed.) programmes in Italy, both at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The University of Messina provides international students with Italian language courses at the beginning of each semester. International students interested in attending the course have to get the Centro Linguistico d’Ateneo di Messina Card (CLAM) freely issued by the CLAM Secretariat.

Housing services

Living in a hall of residence will provide international students with a good base to settle down. You will also be close to other students, as well as being near the University. The Regional agency for the right to higher education (E.R.S.U.) offers its rooms to local and international students. The request must be sent to the University well in advance, before the start of the academic year, to allow scheduling of arrivals and booking of rooms. Since the number of rooms for is limited, assignment of rooms is subject to availability.

ICT services

Each student enrolled at the University of Messina can access a range of online services thanks to a system of unified authentication (SSO). These services include access to the WIFI network of the University, the Google Apps suite including a corporate email account (webmail students), access to e-learning platform of the University and online secretarial services (ESSE3).

Medical services

Italians universities have a long tradition of openness to participation in university life for students with disabilities, despite the difficulties created by numerous architectural and cultural barriers.
