History
For the past 30 years, ESDES has been preparing students and professionals, through education and research, to create sustainable value, in order to create a responsible economy in a globalized and digital world. Through this commitment, ESDES contributes to the emergence of a responsible economy driven by its employees, partners, alumni and students.
Education
The full-time faculty is organized into 5 departments, covering the teaching areas of the different ESDES programs. They teach in all the programs, with courses ranging from introduction to the subject all the way to advanced, for example in the Master's level MasterClasses (optional courses, closely related to the experts' research work).
Research
Institute of Sustainable Business and Organizations (ISBO) constitutes the pole 8 of the UCLy Research Unity.The cluster's research addresses major social and management issues, in response to ESDES' mission: to prepare students and professionals, through Education and Research, to create sustainable value in order to foster the emergence of a responsible economy in a globalized and digital world. The general theme that unites the work of our researchers is Ethics, Responsibility and Sustainability (ERS).

Housing services
Lyon offers multiple choices of accommodation as it is hugely popular and suitable with foreign students. ESDES has partnerships with private residences in order to provide quality accommodation for international students. This is an exclusive offer for all admitted and registered degree-seeking students. More information will be given to future students in the acceptance pack. Housing is limited so hurry and apply now, first come first serve.
Medical services
French Social Security health cover is mandatory for all students under the age of 28 and covers a certain percentage of medical expenses. This health cover is free of charge and upon arrival. During check-in, ESDES will provide you with the necessary information to apply.
Student Life
Campus life
The Catholic University of Lyon (UCLy) has 2 campuses located within a 10 minute walk from each other: Carnot campus and Saint Paul campus.
ESDES, The Business School of UCLy, is located on the Saint Paul campus and is easily accessible by walking, bike ride, public transport, or car.
- ESDES opened a new campus in Annecy, in the heart of the French Alps. It is ideally located by the city centre within a walking distance from the lake, train station, main road and the student residence.
Sports facilities
ESDES's gym is located on the last floor of the building, with a complete view of Lyon from above. The fitness room is equipped with cardiovascular machines and multiple free weights.
