We began life in 1862 as an Anglican teacher training college for women. To mark our centenary in 1962, our name was changed to incorporate the current ‘Bishop Grosseteste’ title, in honour of Robert Grosseteste, the thirteenth century scientist, philosopher, educator, and Bishop of Lincoln (so he’s the one you have to thank for the long name!).

Research is an integral part of academic life and forms one of the defining characteristics of university culture. At Lincoln Bishop University research activity is focused around five cluster areas: Children and Young People; Identity, Culture and Communication; Public Policy and Professional Practice in Education; Transitions in Higher Education; Wellbeing and Resilience.
The BG Futures Careers, Employability and Enterprise Team strive to support all students during their studies to research and plan their career, and to improve their employability. We provide careers education, guidance and information via a number of services and activities. We promote “being enterprising” as an attitude for life and are also able to advise those looking to start their own business.

I honestly love gretsa university and I would gladly recommend it to anyone. I have a number of reasons why I would recommend it to anyone. Reasons being their school fees is very affordable , fast course completion since the University offers trimester , the University support each talents hence it a friendly environment for every student ,classes are nice with friendly lectures and of course they mind every students wellbeing
BGU is a small university compared to other universities in the UK. Because it is so small, support is very good to all students, there are many people at this university to help students with their studies and overall wellbeing. There are 2 student accommodation on campus as well as other student accommodation outside of campus and very close to the university. The social aspect of the university is very good, from my experience, most students know one another if they are regulars at the SU meaning you are never alone. There are many good sports and societies which are all good to join where everyone is nice and supportive! Overall, this university is great and I would recommend to others.
It's a good uni. It's small, which makes it ideal for one-to-one support. The city of Lincoln is lovely and feels relatively safe. The campus is compact, and most of the staff are fairly supportive. There's a decent selection of societies, especially given the size of the university, and a good variety of food available between the SU and the two on-site cafes.
