Established in 1920, shortly after the union of Romanian territories, in a European context marked by the redefinition of states and by the aftermath of World War I, the Polytechnic School in Timisoara - as was originally called - was the answer to one of the requirements of the Romanian society of the time, namely the formation of engineers.
The didactic activity of Politehnica University Timisoara is organized in line with the Bologna paradigm; the study programs correspond to three cycles, BACHELOR, MASTER and DOCTORAL STUDIES. At the beginning of the twentieth century, there was an increasing need for a university institution with a technical profile in the western part of Romania.
The Student Polyclinic (“Policlinica studenteasca”) is located in the Student Campus, on Aleea Studentilor nr. 1, and provides free of charge medical checks and treatments in the following areas: general medicine, internal medicine and echography, dermatology, family planning, gynaecology, otorhinolaryngology, ophthalmology.
The university`s campus includes 16 student hostels offering approximately 6500 beds, a student cafeteria, a student medical center and two modern sports centers.

I am very satisfied with my university. Everything is so cool and nice and the city is wonderful.
This is a pretty good university, all classes are in Romanian so not so good for foreign students. The teachers are nice, but it's a lot of work to do.
