During the Illustration - Authorial Practice at Falmouth University, you’ll take part in workshops in skills like screen printing, creative writing and bookbinding, while working on longer-term projects in your choice of media. Taking an entrepreneurial approach, you’ll consider the outlets for your work and develop your professional practice. At the end of the course, you’ll mount a professional presentation of work from your negotiated project.

Over the course of the year you'll be required to produce a sequence of three negotiated practical projects based on personal authorial illustration work.The lecture and seminar series Illustration Discourses supports the practical work, running concurrently with a research journal, which builds connections and the opportunity to reflect on practice.

We welcome applications from those with relevant Level 6 qualifications, or relevant equivalent experience, and a demonstrable interest in their subject.

If you have professional experience, this can sometimes be substituted for traditional academic qualifications. This experience should be current (gained within the last five years) and should be equivalent to the learning outcomes of our minimum entry qualifications.
