Overview
The Media and Communication MSc programme from Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University consists of two pathways: a practical pathway, Professional Communication, and a research pathway, Global Media and China.
Students in Professional Communication focus on acquiring media production skills, for example in video production, podcasting, writing, advertising and public relations. Students in Global Media and China concentrate on acquiring theoretical knowledge and research skills. The pathways share four modules; both are academically demanding.

- Bachelor Degree in communication, media, English, English with media or similar
- No practical experience is required, but some relevant media practice/background would be an advantage; individual cases will be considered on their own merits
UK:
- UK upper second class honours (2:1) or equivalent
China:
- Top 100 of 2021 Shanghai Ranking or World-class universities or First-class disciplines (MoE, People’s Republic of China): 75 percent or above (Weighted Average Mark)
- Other universities: 80 - 85 percent or above (Weighted Average Mark), depending on your undergraduate institution
North America:
- 3.0 Cumulative GPA (out of 4) or
- 3.2 Cumulative GPA in the final two years of your undergraduate programme
