Overview
The MSc Actuarial Science and Management at Heriot-Watt University is a sophisticated postgraduate programme designed to fast-track students toward qualifying as professional actuaries. This two-year course bridges the gap between technical mathematical expertise and the strategic management skills required in the modern financial landscape. Students benefit from a curriculum that aligns closely with the professional examinations of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
During the first year, the focus remains on establishing a rigorous foundation in mathematical and statistical principles. The second year shifts toward the practical application of these concepts to complex, real-world scenarios, including the study of risk and insurance.
