The University of Tokyo, also known as "Todai" was established in 1877 as the first national university in Japan. The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.

Funding

As part of the program, the GPSS-GLI Fellowship was launched to help alleviate the financial burden associated with postgraduate study so that enrolled students could focus on their studies and research. Once an application is approved by the GPSS-GLI Steering Committee, the student will be awarded funds to cover tuition and living costs. However, please note that students who are either currently receiving, or who are in line to receive, financial support from other institutions such as a MEXT scholarship or a Todai (UT) fellowship, cannot be considered for this fellowship.
