Accreditation
The University of Tokyo, also known as "Todai" was established in 1877 as the first national university in Japan. As a leading research university, Todai offers courses in essentially all academic disciplines at both undergraduate and graduate levels and conducts research across the full spectrum of academic activity.

Living costs for Tokyo
The living costs include the total expenses per month, covering accommodation, public transportation, utilities (electricity, internet), books and groceries.
Funding
As part of the program, the GPSS-GLI Fellowship was launched to help alleviate the financial burden associated with postgraduate study so that enrolled students could focus on their studies and research. Once an application is approved by the GPSS-GLI Steering Committee, the student will be awarded funds to cover tuition and living costs. However, please note that students who are either currently receiving, or who are in line to receive, financial support from other institutions such as a MEXT scholarship or a Todai (UT) fellowship, cannot be considered for this fellowship.
