Life
Tokyo city life
Tokyo could be considered, in the same time, the city of the young and the vertical city. The Tokyo Skytree is the world’s tallest tower of 634 meters and contains shops, restaurants and an observation deck. Skyscrapers became common buildings due to their large number. And if the fascination for them isn’t enough, you can experience Sundays in Harajuku, the fashion capital of the world for teenagers.
The overview of Tokyo is spectacular also because of the bridge that connects the city with Odaiba Island. The man-made island is popular among visitors for its shopping, dining and leisure spots. The green area completes modern structures, such as Fuji TV Building, Telecom Centre, Museum of Maritime Science, National Museum of Emerging Science or the immense Leisureland entertainment complex.
Nightlife in Tokyo is also one of its main points, since there are special areas for themed clubs, pubs and bars, such as the Kabuckicho area and the Shinjuku red-light street.
The city of noodles has internationally famous and awarded restaurants and you won’t miss the quality of meals. And if you want to take a walk and get to know Tokyo, you will also be surprised by the friendly bats that sometimes fly around.
International atmosphere in Tokyo
Tokyo is, indeed, a populous city. However, it was ranked by the international press for its helpful locals. Even though most of Tokyo's inhabitants speak Japanese, they are open to foreigners and kind. The young atmosphere this city has makes it an environment where you will receive plenty of help to fit in.
However, since the Japanese language uses a unique alphabet, you might need a tourist’s handbook to get by in Tokyo, or you will need to learn the basics of the language before arriving.
