The education and research of the Department of Bioengineering is divided into six fields:
- mechanobio-engineering
- bioelectronics
- biodevices
- chemical bioengineering

- bioimaging.
Accreditation
The University of Tokyo, also known as "Todai" was established in 1877 as the first national university in Japan.
